Advocacy

The Parent and Carer Alliance believes that advocacy is an essential service for vulnerable families.

Our aim is to ensure families feel supported and can understand what is happening through the maze of services. We want to ensure families are given a real opportunity to have a voice in the decision-making processes which affect their lives. Please use this page to decide if you would like to make enquiries about support for your family.

Advocate DUNCAN SIRET

My name is Duncan Siret. I am a qualified and registered child care social worker (HCPC no. is SW40073).

I am recently retired after working 30 plus years for children’s services at Gloucestershire County Council. During that time I have worked in social work, in safeguarding and as a children’s services complaints manager, amongst other roles. Most recently I have been a Social Work Team Manager.

I therefore have a great deal of experience about the how children’s social work operates (including safeguarding). I also have a lot of experience working with schools, health services and other agencies.

I see my role of a parent and carer advocate in the widest possible sense, I can offer you advice, support and advocacy in whatever agency or procedure you are having difficulty with. There will be no charge for the first telephone consultation.
