Steering Towards Positive Change
Here at the Parent and Carer Alliance, we know the battles families with disabled children face. Due to our lived experience, we also know that the system is often stacked against families, and we are passionate about driving positive change on a larger scale, to ensure that the system levels the playing field for years to come. We work closely alongside other companies, lawyers and specialists, to create solutions that will help shape the change that is so desperately needed. We recognise that the issues faced, stem from much bigger issues and we are committed to doing all we can to pave a better future for disabled children and their families.

Our Overall Aim
Our aim is to support families whose children have additional needs so they can live better lives. We work to ensure families are given a real opportunity to have a voice in the decision-making processes which affect their lives and to feel more confident in championing getting the needs of their families met.
We do this by:
-
Running events and hosting webinars to enable increased understanding of legislation and rights.
-
Providing an advice service that gives practical advice and on how to ensure rights to support are met.
-
Contributing valuable lived experience when working on local and national projects to improve services.
-
Providing safe spaces for families to meet virtually, and face to face, to share their experiences with others experiencing the same challenges, who truly understand, to alleviate loneliness and have fun. Click here for our Safeguarding Policy
-
Aiming to reduce poverty within our community by offering tailored benefits advice, delivering the Holiday Activities Food Programme (HAF &HAP), and ensuring access to nutritious food to those most in need.
