Did you know?
Parent and Carer Alliance CIC have been awarded the Gloucestershire County Council HAF (Holiday and Food) Programme Specialist Community Connector role.
If your child has any Special Needs or Disabilities, and you live in Gloucestershire, then your child is eligible to take part in activities provided by HAF/HAP whether or not you are eligible for Free School Meals.
The interest in this program is always very high and we do our best to accommodate all requests.
During the Priority Booking for Winter HAF/HAP we will be booking 2 activities per family only. You are able to book more activities for your child when the booking opens to the public.
Due to high volumes we may pause the processing of interest.

About HAF
The Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) programme, funded by the DfE, provides enriching activities as well as delicious and nutritious food.
HAF and HAP activities are available for children and young people who receive benefits-related free school meals.
The Alliance are also able to extend this offer to any child with SEN who may benefit from attending the programme. If your child is not in receipt of FSM but has SEN then please fill in an expression of interest form and the Alliance will support you to book them on an activity.

Accessibility & Inclusion
All HAF activity providers have been working hard to make activities accessible.
Each provider has their own ‘All About Us’ which you can find on the events through the Gloucestershire Family Hub.
This includes more information about the provider, venue, activity and staffing, should you require any further information prior to booking.
In addition to this, there is also an opportunity for your child to share ‘All About Me’; an online form where you will be able to put in more information about your child and any additional needs that may need to be met on the day, so that the provider can ensure your child’s needs are met.
If you ever feel you require further information before booking an activity, we encourage you to get in touch with the activity provider who will be happy to help.
All contact details should be available on the activity booking page or email us HAF@parentandcareralliance.org.uk and we will be happy to help you 😊

Our Role
We have taken on the Community Connector role to improve the HAF programme for SEND families, and to deliver more inclusive and accessible provision through improvements to HAF provider training programmes and to the resources used by the families and providers. The improvements needed may take time but we are excited for the challenge ahead!
The feedback provided by the Specialist Community Connector will be used to inform the redesign of any new Gloucestershire HAF programme. We will also be able to priority book families on to the, summer, and winter activity sessions.
As always, we are looking for the experiences of our membership for gathering experiences and making recommendations for improvements. Please help us by completing this form – you can help make a positive difference
