Meet Our Team
Alice Gardner
Director and Advocate
Hi, I'm Alice and I am a Director here at PCA. I have 3 children all who are disabled and they have been the drive to me wanting to make systematic changes for our children. I have a keen interest in Law and am currently completing a Bachelors degree in Law with my vision being making legal advice and presence more accessible for families with disabled children. Together we can make a real change!
Laura
Family Support Worker
Hi, I'm Laura, and I joined the team a year ago after receiving invaluable support and advocacy services from the Parent and Carer Alliance to help secure my son his much-needed EHCP. So often as parent carers, we find ourselves in the midst of battles that we didn't even know existed until we are faced with them. And far too many families are dealing with multifactorial challenges whilst statutory services repeatedly fail to deliver. This role has enabled me to draw on my own experiences and knowledge from over two decades of parenting children with SEND and utilise this help to empower other parent carers on their journeys.
Becky Rowlands
Family Support Worker
Hi, I'm Becky, I live in the cotswolds with my son who is autistic, and have an ex-racehorse and a puppy. Between them all, they certainly keep me on my toes! I Joined Parent and Carer Alliance after a long fight to get my son support, and I hope that I can use my past experiences to help many families in the future.
Louise Arnold
Director
Both of my children developed long term medical conditions meaning they needed support from education, health and social care. The many challenges in getting my children’s needs met, meant that I gladly offered my support to the Alliance to help other parent carers have better support, and feel less alone.
Jody
Family Support Worker
I'm Jody and a Family Support Worker here at PCA. Away from work I have two Children with SEN, so I can connect with families on a personal level, as I understand the struggles they face. I have experience in supporting families to advocate neurodivergent children's needs within the education environment. In my spare time I like to get out for walks, pick up a book, or head to the shops. As a Family we like getting crafty, head to a park and build dens, before going home for a hot chocolate in front of a good movie.
Duncan
Social Worker
Duncan Siret is an independent social worker who has worked alongside the Parent and Carer Alliance since the summer of 2018, before then he spent over 30 years, mostly with Gloucestershire County Council, working in children’s social care. He has been a social worker, a team manager, a child protection conference chair, a children’s social care complaints manager amongst other roles. In latter years he worked in quality assurance, a position that involved collecting the views and experiences of parents who receive a social work service.
Beth
Head of SEN Support
Hi, I am Beth and I am Head of SEN Support at PCA. I oversee our Tribunal work and support parents and carers through the appeal process. My first experience of a SEND appeal was for an EOTISC package for my son which I successfully navigated myself, and won. I was keen to set up an appeal support service so other families would not have to go through the process alone and since setting up the SEN Support service, 100% of the families we have supported have been successful in their appeals.
Danni
Family Support Worker
I’m Danni, Mum of two girls, family support worker and a parent carer for 10 years. I have a professional background in counselling and a special interest in trauma, and maternal and family mental health. I’m a firm believer in the phrase “become the person you needed and pay it forward” and that’s why I became part of the Parent and Carer Alliance. We feel there needs to be a systemic shift to support not just our children, but everyone facing challenges to achieve a truly equitable society.
