Duncan
Social Worker
Duncan Siret is an independent social worker who has worked alongside the Parent and Carer Alliance since the summer of 2018, before then he spent over 30 years, mostly with Gloucestershire County Council, working in children’s social care. He has been a social worker, a team manager, a child protection conference chair, a children’s social care complaints manager amongst other roles. In latter years he worked in quality assurance, a position that involved collecting the views and experiences of parents who receive a social work service.

Jane
Volunteer LEGO Play Worker
In 1970, when I was four, I saved tokens from Weetabix packets to send off for a Lego Castle - and my love of Lego began. What I love about Lego is that creative people can use their imagination, while those of us who like to follow instructions can build what other people have designed. And everyone gets to enjoy the process and the results. I'm recently retired, have been a carer for over 30 years, help at the ConnectAt Club for young people with autism (where we also often build Lego models), and am a member of Dursley Tab. I am also about to complete a Lego therapy qualification.

Sarah
Family Support Worker
I am a mother to young twins, both with special educational needs. I feel my personal journey of advocating for the needs of my children to be met has equipped me with a deep understanding of the challenges faced by families in similar situations. This experience has instilled in me a strong sense of empathy and resilience, driving my passion for creating supportive environments that promote inclusivity, while supporting families ensuring their voices are heard and their family needs are prioritised. When an opportunity arose to join the Parent and Carer Alliance team I jumped at the chance. They had been a light in the dark for me when I was navigating my way through advocating for my children, and the short breaks they provide made an invaluable difference to my family. I was excited to become part of this incredible organisation and am passionate about contributing to their important work to bring about meaningful change.

Jess
Financial Director
Jessica Marshall qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2011 and has worked for practices across Gloucestershire. I have always enjoyed management accounting, as this helps organisations to make informed decisions. I started working with the Parent and Carer Alliance in 2021, and it's so rewarding to see how much the Alliance has grown and achieved in the last few years. I have three young children who love to discover and learn, so I see how important it is for all children and families to have access to opportunities and facilities that give them the chance to explore together. It is wonderful to see the life changing outcomes that we have been able to help achieve for the families we have supported.

Tyler
Sessional Worker
Tyler White is one of our sessional workers, he supports children at our many and varied events. I'm Tyler, you can call me Ty or Tyler. I am autistic, have sensory processing difficulties and dyslexia. I love working with children and young people, it's what I've always wanted to do and have trained for. I am also a member of the LGBTQ community.

Caroline
Company Secretary
Caroline Grant has over 14 years’ experience as a Clerk to Trustees to both educational and armed forces charities and a mum to two teenage boys. I am working with the Parent and Carers Alliance C.I.C as Company Secretary as I am passionate about supporting and empowering parents, like me, to enable their child to access the education they are entitled to, in whatever way the child needs. Having had the support of the Alliance I know how valuable the service is and how important it is for the service to continue and encompass as many families as require support.
