At Parent & Carer Alliance, we are looking to expand our team! Please see below for information on the roles available. 

All of our roles are hybrid, with at least one working day per month from an office. You may be required to attend meetings at various venues to support our families. 

Employee Benefits

We are a team, led by Lucy Fullard our CEO and Founder. We work well together and support one another and would love to welcome you to our team. 

We work remotely as well as together at The Vibe, Dursley, and regularly meet up for staff catch ups in person and online.

We cover the whole of Gloucestershire and would like to have staff across the county.

We work flexibly over 12-20 hours a week (a 37.5 hr week would be full time) and support you to ensure you can be free for pick up times and school meetings.

Training

We support our employees with Training and CPD, training can include SEN Law, Advocacy, First Aid, LEGO Therapy and Safeguarding

Lived Experience

We value your lived experience. All the team members of the Alliance have lived experience and an understanding of the processes we need to navigate as well as the trauma that may have been suffered.

Holidays

The Alliance values work life balance and all employees are allocated 20 days plus bank holidays per annum (pro rata).

We shut down over Christmas to ensure we all have a break.

Family Support Workers

Working within our Advice Service as a Family Support Worker is a very rewarding role. 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills

  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • A caring an empathetic approach, with the ability to stay calm and rational in highly emotive circumstances

  • Knowledge of SEN processes and basic knowledge of an EHCP

  • Full driving licence with own transport

  • Flexibility to be able to attend meetings

SEN Support Advisor

Do you know your way around a working document? Do you have experience with the appeals process? We are looking for SEN Support Advisors to support families going through the appeals process.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An excellent knowledge of how an EHCP works and is set out

  • Basic understanding of inputting professional reports into a working document

  • Basic understanding of the appeal process

  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to work to deadlines

  • Excellent computer skills

  • Keen eye for detail

Salary commensurate with experience, scaled from £25,350 to £35,100 per annum, FTE, pro rata. ​

Volunteering

We are always seeking volunteers to help provide the services we do, 

The activities we support can only happen with a band of volunteers complementing our specialists.

Consultation

Independent Social Worker

We are looking for Independent Social Workers who want to make a difference!! Our social workers work closely with families going through children's social care, whether that be on a safeguarding level or Section 17 child in need.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An active registration with Social Work England

  • Excellent knowledge around disabled children within social care

  • The ability to 'change their hat'. The knowledge that children can be in need due to disability and there be no safeguarding concerns

  • Excellent knowledge of assessments and an ability to carry out a thorough independent assessment of needs

  • Own car and full driving licence with the ability to travel for meetings
