About the event
Education solicitors Beth Parr and Jennifer Wright from law firm Rook Irwin Sweeney LLP will be joining us to give an overview of:
Education, Health and Care Plans (EHC Plans), including what to expect from them, how you can go about improving them, and what you can do if the support included in the EHC Plan isn’t delivered;
Education Otherwise Than In School (EOTIS), including how you request an EOTIS package from your local authority, how it differs from elective home education, and what it can look like in practice;
The SEND Tribunal as a remedy; and
Briefly, issues concerning school attendance.
There will be an opportunity during the webinar to pose questions in the chat.
However, please note that it is not possible to give specific legal advice without a specific retainer in place with RIS LLP, so any answers will be kept fairly general.
Families are of course welcome to get in touch with Rook Irwin Sweeney LLP if you require specific legal advice.
If you require advocacy support (not legal advice) with any issues you are experiencing relating to the topics above, please look at our advice page and choose the support option that would fit you best. Gloucestershire families are eligible to apply for 5 hours National Lottery Funded advocacy support (new contacts only) and should fill in this form.
