About the event
This workshop with the British Institute of Human Rights, will support parents and carers to understand the legal duties of local authorities, health services, schools and others to respect, protect, and fulfil people's human rights. We will explore some of the legally protected human rights that are often at risk in situations faced by disabled children and their families.
Drawing on resources developed with the Parent and Carer Alliance as part of a recent community programme, we will look at tools to support parents and carers to use harness the power of the Human Rights Act in their advocacy.
The £5 admin fee covers a copy of the human rights guide for you to take away and refreshments.
